What if I get an erection?

A new food craze that is sweeping a British city sees diners eating out while completely NAKED.


The thought of feasting next to nude foodies while in the buff may feel some with dread, but in Bristol its captured the imagination.

So far, the first two events hosted by Dine Naked Bristol have sold out instantly, with demand rising for more to be added to the calendar.

But what do people need to know before stripping off for a slap up meal?

Diners are sent a list of FAQs, and some rules, before turning up at the event.

From what to do if you get an erection to will it just be full of middle-aged men, organiser Will Bryson sends out this helpful information ahead of the event, the Bristol Post reports.

What do I need to bring?

"Just some footwear - e.g. sandals, slippers or flipflops. If you like, bring a bag to put your clothes in - but we'll have plenty of spare bags you can use.

"You don't need to bring a towel to sit on (we'll provide those). Don't bring a camera. You don't need to print your ticket."

How should I be dressed when I arrive?

"Arrive normally dressed. We'll welcome you and explain things, then you can find a seat and get undressed."

Do I need to be completely naked?

"Bring sandals, slippers or flipflops. But the point of Dine Naked is to be naked, so please don't wear anything else."

Why would I want to dine naked?

"Being naked in a safe, friendly environment can be a really positive, life-affirming experience. It's a celebration of body-positivity.

"If your new year’s ambition was to try new things, here’s the perfect way to do it - with the benefit of getting to eat good food in friendly places."

Will it be warm enough?

"Yes. It's a warm room (and they use it for life-drawing without any problems)."

Will the staff be naked?

"No, not at this event - but possibly at future ones."

What if someone I know sees me?

" The only people who'll see you will be other naked diners and the restaurant staff. The windows will be curtained, so nobody will be able to see in."

Can I take photos at the event?

"No, sorry. Best leave your gadgets and focus on the food and conversation."

Is this a sexual event?

" No. Nudity doesn't have to be sexual. If your interest in the event is sexual, then we don't want you along. We'll not tolerate any behaviour that makes others feel uncomfortable.

"Anyone behaving like that is likely to be told to leave immediately, and no refund will be offered. If you witness anything you're not comfortable with, speak to me or the restaurant staff."

What if I accidentally get an erection?

" This is very unlikely. It's a completely non-sexual situation, but if this does happen, simply cover yourself with the towel from your chair, and wait for it to pass."

How will the seating work?

"We'll have a couple of large tables. You're welcome to sit together with friends, or mingle with others. Either way, this is a great opportunity to be friendly and meet new people."

Will it just be middle-aged white men?

" No. We know there will be more men than women present, but we're actively trying to make these events as diverse and balanced as possible."
